#Abbeys4for4Challenge

Abbeys4for4Challenge

Bill Conner, father to Abigail Mae Conner, cycled over 2,000 miles across the country to spread awareness about the impact of organ donation and the importance the gift of life truly is. Bill started his journey on May 22, 2017 in Madison, WI and arrived in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on July 10, 2017. His finish line was at Broward Medical Center, where Abbey was transported, received exceptional care, and was prepared for the donation of her organs for transplant. Abbey’s Gift of Donation allowed four males to live because she donated her organs. This number is impactful in Bill’s Challenge to all of us throughout the country.
In #Abbeys4for4Challenge each of us has been challenged to find four people in our community who are not registered organ donors, and get them to register. We all have the ability to increase donor registration rates throughout the country!
See Abbeys4for4Challenge Facebook Page for more information and a special message from Bill.

Donor Recognition Ceremony – Sunday, June 3, 2018

We will be hosting our 16th Annual Donor Medal Recognition Ceremony on June 3,, 2018. This event is to honor those who generously gave the Gift of Life through organ, eye and tissue donation in 2017. This is a great event to take a moment, and reflect on Life Alliance’s mission of providing life-saving organs while caring for the families of organ, eye, and tissue donors by turning tragedies into miracles.

DMV Champions Meeting – Thursday, June 28, 2018

DMV Champions Meeting

Our quarterly meeting with our DMV Champions to discuss the April statewide driver’s license challenge that was held during National Donate Life Month. We will be going over the results of the campaign and award the office winners with the most designations and dollars donated.
We work closely with our DMV examiners and managers to help maintain our current state of Florida goal of 50% or more registered organ donors. As of March 2018, 88.4% of donors registered at a driver license office.
